Resume Tailor ("we," "our," "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of information: (1) Resume and job description content you upload or paste, solely to analyze and generate tailored output. (2) Payment-related data processed by our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy (we do not store full card numbers). (3) Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and approximate location for security, rate-limiting, and analytics. (4) Email address if you provide it at checkout or for support. (5) Usage data such as pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns (collected via analytics cookies only with your consent).

How We Use Data

We use your data solely to provide the Service: analyzing resumes via AI, generating documents, processing payments, preventing abuse, and improving our product. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. We may use aggregated, non-identifying data for internal analytics.

AI Processing

Your resume text and job description are sent to OpenAI's API for analysis and optimization. OpenAI processes this data as our sub-processor solely to generate results for you. We use OpenAI's API in a configuration that does not use your data to train their models. We do not store your resume content permanently. Data Retention

We designed our system to minimize data retention: • Resume and analysis data: Automatically and permanently deleted after 1 hour via server-side expiration (TTL). We do not keep copies. • Account data (credits and scan history): Automatically deleted 30 days after your last purchase. Each new purchase resets the 30-day period. • Payment records: May be retained by our payment processor as required by law or for dispute resolution. • Transaction logs: We retain anonymized transaction records (no personally identifiable information) for accounting purposes. Because data is deleted automatically on a short schedule, there is no persistent personal data to erase beyond what is described above.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use two categories of cookies: • Essential cookies: Required for the site to function (session tokens, access tokens). These cannot be disabled. • Analytics cookies: Used to understand usage patterns (Google Analytics). These are only loaded after you consent via our cookie banner. Third-Party Service Providers

We share data with the following service providers, each acting as a data processor on our behalf: • OpenAI - Processes resume text and job descriptions to generate AI analysis. International Data Transfers

Our service providers (including OpenAI, Lemon Squeezy, Vercel, and Sentry) may process data in the United States and other countries outside your jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards to ensure an adequate level of data protection.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data: • Right of access - Request a copy of data we hold about you. • Right of correction - Request we correct inaccurate data. • Right of deletion - Request deletion of your data. Note: resume data is automatically deleted within 1 hour; account data within 30 days. • Right to restrict processing - Request we limit how we use your data. • Right to data portability - Receive your data in a structured format. • Right to object - Object to processing based on legitimate interests. • Right to lodge a complaint - File a complaint with your local data protection authority. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), server-side input validation, and automatic data expiration. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate the last updated date at the top. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
